| Description: | The graceful red crested crane is the symbol of longevity. Its simplicity is enhanced with the execution of one type of Japanese embroidery technique called "fuzzy effect." It is a couching technique that students will stitch to achieve dense areas of feathers against the downy smooth ones. Done on a black silk canvas, students will have the choice of doing on white, with the crane stitched in grey. Keep in mind that the black canvas has a greater effect. |
