Description:

The folding screens depicted on the panel have been used in Japanese homes for thousands of years and have also become popular in the West.

A variety of silk and metal thread techniques are drawn from European and Far Eastern traditions. Some of the techniques include a burden stitch pattern over a metallic braid, pattern couching, trellis patterns, counted and surface embroidery techniques.
